Sponsor-a-Child Program

Sponsor-a-Child Program

The Sponsor-a-Child Program Thanks to Masonic Blue Lodges in Virginia, over $48,000 in free care has been provided to children with speech, language and hearing disorders at the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center. The Sponsor-a-Child Program was initiated in 2011 and is one of the many ways Masonry helps the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center obtain the funding needed to continue our mission of providing communication services with fees based on the families ability to pay.  Children whose families do not have insurance to cover the cost of treatment apply to our financial assistance program (Access to Care) to receive reduced-fee services.  Area Blue Lodges provide the SRCLC with needed revenue to sustain intensive speech therapy for these children. Sponsoring lodges learn about their sponsored child’s communication disorder, receive pictures, cards and periodic progress updates.  Blue Lodges make a difference in the lives of these children and become more meaningfully connected to the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center, which is a Masonic charity. Lodge Sponsorships can be made in any amount. If your Lodge would like more information about the Sponsor-a-Child Program, one of the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center Ambassadors will come to speak to your Lodge. If you’ve already made the commitment to support one of our children, simply print out the brochure and include it with your sponsorship gift. Thank you for helping children with communication disorders get the treatment they need!
